How to Play EuroMillions HotPicks
Follow the step-by-step guide on this page to find out how to play EuroMillions HotPicks, the game that lets you choose how many numbers to play and which gives you the chance to win up to £1 million twice a week.
Pick between one and five numbers
The first thing you have to do is confirm how many numbers you want to pick. In EuroMillions HotPicks you get to choose how many numbers to play. If you pick one number, that’s known as a ‘Pick 1’ game; pick two numbers for a ‘Pick 2’ game, and so on, up to a maximum of five numbers.
Each HotPicks game has an associated prize, so how many numbers you pick directly affects how much prize money it is possible to win. The game costs £1.50 per line, regardless of how many numbers you pick.
Choose your numbers from a range of 1-50
The next thing to do is pick which numbers you want to play from a range of 1 to 50. Lucky Stars don’t come into play in EuroMillions HotPicks so you don't pick any on your ticket and you cannot match your numbers with the Lucky Stars in the EuroMillions draw.
You can choose your own numbers or you can pick a Lucky Dip to get a line of random numbers. The EuroMillions HotPicks Number Generator can also create random lines for you to play.
Play on a Tuesday, Friday, or both
Next, choose which draw days you want to play on. EuroMillions HotPicks uses the winning numbers from the main EuroMillions draw, which takes place every Tuesday and Friday at around 8.00pm.
On your playslip, confirm whether you want to enter the Tuesday draw, the Friday draw, or both. You have until around 7.30pm on the day of each draw to get your entries, but you can enter at any time on other days of the week.
Enter multiple draws in advance
Finally, decide whether you want enter just the next available draw or multiple draws in advance. When you play in-store you can play for up to four weeks in advance, for a total of eight draws.
When you play online you can do the same or you can set up a Direct Debit to enter your numbers into every draw on an ongoing basis. If you set up a Direct Debit you can change your numbers and draw days at any time.
How does EuroMillions HotPicks Work?
In EuroMillions HotPicks you must decide how many numbers you want to play and you get to play for a specific prize based on that choice. For example, if you pick one number you win £10 if you match it with one of the numbers in the winning line. If you pick and match two numbers, you win £100, and so on all the way up to the top prize of £1 million, which you win by picking and matching five numbers.
Unlike the main EuroMillions draw, where it’s possible to win one of 13 different prizes with every line, in HotPicks you play for one prize based on how many numbers you pick. You must also match all of the numbers you pick to win.
Although EuroMillions HotPicks has stricter rules than EuroMillions when it comes to how and what you can win, the game has much better odds. The odds of picking and matching one number in HotPicks are 1 in 10 and you win £10 for doing so. On average you have to match up to three numbers and one Lucky Star to win an equivalent amount in EuroMillions, at much longer odds.
