UK and Irish Lottery Jackpot Winners Claim Prizes

Jackpot winners from both the UK Lotto and Irish Lottery have claimed their new-found fortunes this week!
The winner of last Saturday’s UK Lotto jackpot has wasted no time in coming forward to claim his £7.9 million prize. The UK Lotto has confirmed that the entire jackpot was won by Ron Elliott, a 67-year-old care worker from Sutton and that the lucky player intends to continue working despite his win. He also plans to take a trip to his favourite holiday destination, Indonesia, and will pay off his sons' mortgage.
Ron is the latest in a run of lucky UK lottery winners over the past month. Most recently, self-employed carpenter Gary from Croydon claimed his £500,000 Thunderball win, following in the footsteps of the £10 million Bradford winner and two of the three jackpot winners who shared the top prize from the 19th October 2013 draw.
Over in Ireland, the €3.9 million jackpot from the Irish Lottery draw on Wednesday 23rd October 2013 has also been claimed. The winning ticket belonged to a syndicate of players from South Dublin, who purchased their Quick Pick ticket from the Bus Stop Kiosk in the Nutgrove Shopping Centre, Rathfarnham. This was the second jackpot winning ticket sold by the store, which also sold a €350,000 Lotto Plus 1 ticket back in March 2012.
The jackpot winning syndicate, which has chosen to remain anonymous, is the second syndicate from Dublin to collect a jackpot worth almost €4 million in recent weeks. Upon collecting their prize from Irish Lottery headquarters, the group told officials they were delighted.
“We’re so happy. We never expected that we’d win – it’s unbelievable!”
If all this talk of lottery success is making you dream about winning the jackpot, then the good news is that both the UK Lotto and Irish Lottery draws are tonight! The UK Lotto has a brand new estimated jackpot of £2.5 million while the Irish Lottery is a double-rollover worth €3 million. Plus, for UK players looking for a £1 lottery game, the Thunderball also plays tonight with a top prize of £500,000.
