Sandwell EuroMillions Winner Could Miss Out on £1 Million

One very lucky EuroMillions player from the UK could be set to miss out on a prize worth £1 million. The ticket holder correctly matched the Millionaire Maker code JDG845603 on Friday 25th March to win the seven-figure prize and a US trip of a lifetime, but is yet to make themselves known to lottery officials.
The player, who purchased their ticket in the Sandwell District of West Bromwich, has until the 21st of September to claim their reward, but with no inkling of who the winner may be, community leaders are getting involved as they try to alert the lucky player. One of those lending support to the cause is the Mayor of Sandwell Julie Webb, who is urging everyone in the area to locate their tickets and double check whether they are due a sizeable sum courtesy of the Mega Friday draw. Speaking to the Express & Star, she said: “It would be a highlight of my year in office to help reunite a EuroMillions ticket worth £1,000,000 with the lucky owner and then wave them off on a trip of a lifetime. I just hope they come forward.”
Webb, who became mayor of Sandwell in May 2016, is eager to find the winner before the collection deadline, but it won’t be the first big win in the area: “There’s been two or three winners of the lottery in the past. I think there was two in Tipton and I know there was on in Tividale so this will make it the fourth.” She went on to stress the need to alert the winner as soon as possible: “It’s important that we get this publicised as someone in Sandwell has got a million pound ticket and included in that is a first class holiday to America which would be worth £30,000.”
National Lottery representatives have even visited Sandwell in an attempt to identify the lucky winner, walking down the streets of Oldbury with an oversized novelty EuroMillions ticket. The stunt was designed to refresh the memories of passers-by and get them to search high and low for the missing play slip: “We are desperate to find this mystery ticket-holder and unite them with their winnings, this amazing prize could really make a huge difference to somebody’s life,” a spokesman for the National Lottery exclaimed. “We have the champagne on ice and our fingers crossed that the lucky winner comes forward and claims their win.”
