National Lottery miss out on Illinois Lottery

After a week full of lottery news about whether the company who run the UK Lotto would buy the Illinois Lottery, a decision has finally made. Unfortunately the National Lottery miss out on the Illinois Lottery as Governor Pat Quinn chooses the Northstar Group to run the lottery for the next ten years. When the Ontario Teacher’s Pension Fund bought the National Lottery they made no secret of the fact they intended on chasing other acquisitions but this time they have been unsuccessful.
The Northstar Group is a group made up of three separate companies and each of them already works for the Illinois Lottery making machines and media duties. So then it should come as little surprise they have been chosen to run the lottery for the next ten years.
It’s a blow to the new owners of the National Lottery who have shown interest in several lottery draws from around the world but it’s not likely to put the Ontario Teacher’s Pension Fund off chasing other projects. What’s next is yet to be seen but we suspect you haven’t heard the last of the National Lottery attempting to buy other lottery draws from around the world.
In more local news there’s a Euromillions Lottery draw tonight, that one has a £12 million estimated jackpot and then tomorrow there’s a UK Lotto rollover up for grabs. You can buy lottery tickets online now for both draws and although you won’t have enough to buy your own lottery draw, you should have enough to change your life!
