Britain basked in glorious sunshine over the bank holiday weekend, with summer barbecues held up and down the UK as many people took the time to relax and unwind in the glorious weather. There were further reasons for celebration too, with UK players claiming some big prizes on offer in several lotteries, including EuroMillions and Lotto. Let’s look at those who topped off their sun-soaked weekend with a lottery win.
UK Player Matches Six EuroMillions Numbers
The EuroMillions draw on Friday 4th May had an estimated jackpot of £32.6 million, with ticket holders from across the UK dreaming they could kick off their bank holiday weekend in style with a mammoth jackpot win. Although the eight-figure top prize rolled over to £40 million ahead of tomorrow’s draw on Tuesday 9th May, there were 450,646 UK winners overall, with prizes totalling over £2 million awarded.
One UK player in particular came ever so close to becoming a multi-millionaire, after they matched all five main numbers and one Lucky Star to take home £140,245 alongside four other Match 5 + 1 winners - three from Spain and one from Austria. The lucky UK player now has 180 days from the date of the draw to come forward and claim their prize.
Elsewhere, two UK players became instant millionaires after landing £1 million each in the UK Millionaire Maker. The two winning codes were JJFG67338 and TKFP52371. There were also two Pick 4 Match 4 winners of £30,000 each in EuroMillions HotPicks, with the drawn numbers 6, 12, 23, 39 and 45.
Lotto Jackpot Rolls Over To Over £18 Million
Like EuroMillions, the UK Lotto jackpot wasn’t claimed over the bank holiday weekend. The draw on Saturday 5th May was for an enormous £17.2 million and, although no player matched all six numbers to take home the top prize, there were 1,199,757 winners elsewhere. The winning numbers were 2, 9, 14, 49, 52, and 56, plus bonus ball 41. Sixty ticket holders matched all five numbers to take home £1,414 each.
Additionally, there was one Millionaire Raffle Code drawn – JADE 8492 838 – and 20 raffle codes worth £20,000 each were also won. The jackpot has now shot up to £18.4 million for the draw on Wednesday 9th May after eight consecutive rollovers, one of the biggest Lotto jackpots of the year. Ticket holders will be desperate to become the game’s first jackpot winner since Saturday 7th April, when a £9.5 million top prize was claimed.
If the Lotto jackpot isn’t won in this week’s Wednesday or Saturday draws, there is a strong chance the jackpot cap of £22 million could be reached. More information can be found on the Lottery Rollovers page.
