Lotto Jackpot Swells To £19.7 Million
Last Updated: Tuesday 10th October 2017, 09:35
The largest EuroMillions jackpot for three years may no longer be on offer following Friday’s big win, but National Lottery players will now have the chance to try and get their hands on one of the biggest Lotto prizes of 2017 in Wednesday night’s draw.
Current Lotto Jackpot
The Lotto jackpot stands at £19.7 million following a run of eight rollovers. The last time it was won was on Saturday 9th September, when a single player matched all six main numbers to pocket £16.9 million.
Millions of players have continued to pick up prizes over the last few weeks, even as the jackpot has been steadily climbing, with two ticket holders in Saturday’s draw scooping £42,521 after matching five main numbers plus the Bonus Ball. Go to the Lotto Results page for recent winning numbers and prize breakdowns.
Fans of the game can now look forward to tomorrow night’s draw, and the opportunity to become Lotto’s biggest winner since someone landed £21.3 million on Saturday 24th June. Lotto offers better odds of winning the jackpot than EuroMillions and, after a Spanish player banked £170.8 million in EuroMillions on Friday to reset the jackpot to £15 million, a higher top prize as well.
Lotto Jackpot Cap
The Lotto jackpot is now approaching its jackpot cap of £22 million. Once it reaches this mark, it can only roll over once more and then it must be won. If nobody matches all six main numbers in the following draw, the top prize will roll down and be shared between players in the next winning tier.
If you want to try and snap up the jackpot before the cap is reached, it could be the perfect time to play this week. The old £1 coins have to be used by 15th October, so if you still have a few lying around at home you might as well pick up a ticket or two rather than see them go to waste. Tickets can be bought from authorised retailers or you can pick numbers online. Good luck!
