Saturday’s Lotto draw had a rollover jackpot on offer to win that came out at just over £6 million so players were hoping that luck would be on their side so that they would become the next jackpot winners in this lottery. This was in fact the case as the results from this draw show that a total of five tickets all matched the six numbers drawn to all scoop Saturday’s Lotto jackpot, meaning that each ticket took home just over £1.2 million.
The Lotto results from Saturday’s draw if you haven’t seen them already were 1, 11, 12, 27, 48, 49 and Bonus Ball was 19. In addition to the jackpot winners there over 560,000 players that won a prize on Saturday. A whopping 660 players were one number away from winning the Lotto jackpot as all matched five of the numbers drawn to win £1,150, however 13 of these matched the Bonus Ball as well to win the second tier prize which was worth £91,611. Altogether the total amount of winnings in Saturday’s draw was worth an impressive £14.8 million.
Whether any of these five ticket holders will come forward to claim their prize remains to be seen however having this amount of jackpot winners in a Lotto draw doesn’t happen very often. Normally there are one, two or sometimes three jackpot winners in a draw however having five is a rarity. The last there were a large number of Lotto jackpot winners in a draw was on the 12th January 2013 when eight ticket holders all matched the numbers drawn to share the £2.2 million jackpot.
The Lotto jackpot resets again for Wednesday’s draw and it is estimated at £2 million – so make sure you have your tickets ready if you fancy winning this top prize!
