Euromillions winner misses out

Before the Euromillions rollover tonight, we thought we’d give you a reminder about unclaimed lottery prizes. Last week we brought you news of lottery prizes that would expire this month, but despite our appeals for the winner, a Euromillions winner misses out today on a prize worth more than a quarter of a million. Yesterday was the deadline for the £263,000 winner to come forward, but it’s passed and now the whole win, plus any interest will be added to the fund for good causes.
We’d already appealed for the winner, from the Southsea area to come forward, but despite many lottery news articles about the subject, no one came forward to claim the prize. However, it seems a recent worrying trend for UK Euromillions players, as there are many unclaimed Euromillions prizes up for grabs right now.
It’s for this reason, we always recommend you buy lottery tickets online. By registering with the National Lottery and buying lottery tickets directly, you never have to worry about losing a lottery ticket, what’s more, your tickets will be checked automatically and you’ll receive an email if you’re a lucky winner.
This could come in especially handy in a couple of weeks for the Millionaire SuperRaffle on Christmas Eve, with 25 Millionaire Raffle numbers to check against your tickets, you could find yourself missing the winning combination. If you buy your lottery tickets online, you won’t even need to check the Millionaire Raffle numbers on the lottery results, you’ll receive an email if you’re a lucky winner!
