EuroMillions Jackpot Hits New High for 2023
Last Updated: Wednesday 3rd May 2023, 14:21
The largest EuroMillions jackpot of the year will be available in Friday night’s draw after it rolled over to reach £138 million.
The last time that someone won the top prize was back on 24th March, and a sequence of 11 draws without a winner has pushed it back into nine figures and made it the biggest jackpot since November.
It could now keep growing all the way to the EuroMillions Jackpot Cap of €240 million, which converts to approximately £210 million. With the jackpot so high, ticket sales are set to surge until there is a winner, so it may only take a handful more draws to hit the game’s limit.
The biggest win so far this year has been a £129 million jackpot that went to a player from Belgium.
Superdraw on the Way
Even if the jackpot is won in the next few draws, it is sure to be back up above £100 million again very soon, after the date of the next Superdraw was confirmed for Friday 2nd June.
In a Superdraw, money is taken from the Reserve Fund to create a guaranteed huge jackpot. In keeping with recent tradition, the jackpot for June’s event will be worth €130 million (approximately £110 million).
Superdraws only take place a few times a year, and UK players have a great record of success. The last two to be won on the night have both gone to UK ticket holders, while last summer a Superdraw jackpot in June rolled over until a British player pocketed a record £195 million the following month.
