Date Announced for Next EuroMillions Superdraw

Last Updated: Tuesday 20th August 2024, 09:24

The date has been confirmed for the next EuroMillions Superdraw - a special jackpot event when the grand prize will be topped up to a colossal £110 million.

When’s it Happening?

The Superdraw will go ahead on Friday 27th September, making it the fifth year in a row that one has happened in the month of September.

It doesn’t matter how much lower the jackpot is in the draw on Tuesday 24th September, it will be increased to a guaranteed €130 million. This amount is set in euros as that is the currency of most of the countries that play EuroMillions. It will then be converted to pounds sterling based on the exchange rate on the day of the draw, in case there is a UK winner.

If the jackpot happens to be higher than the advertised value as a result of several rollovers, the Superdraw will effectively be postponed and the larger prize will continue to grow.

The announcement of the Superdraw follows on from other exciting promotions that have already taken place this summer, including the enhanced Millionaire Maker draw on 16th August when 10 UK players each won £1 million.

Top UK Winners

It could be that the Superdraw creates one of the UK’s biggest-ever winners, because even if the jackpot rolls over on the night it will just keep rising until it is won or until it hits its limit of €250 million.

The three biggest wins in the UK all came back in 2022. Top of the charts was an anonymous player who pocketed £195.7 million in the July. This broke a national record that had been set a couple of months earlier by Joe and Jess Thwaite from Gloucester with their £184.2 million jackpot. Rounding out the top three was another anonymous player, who landed £171.8 million in September 2022.

No UK player has won more than £100 million this year, although there have still been three jackpots won in the country in 2024. Most notably, Richard and Debbie Nuttall claimed £61 million on 30th January following a Superdraw the previous Friday.

If you want to try to follow in the footsteps of previous winners, you can pick up a EuroMillions ticket from any authorised retailer, or take part online. Keep an eye out for what happens in the Superdraw to find out how lucky you have been.
