Could This be the Biggest Lotto Draw in History?

Last Updated: Tuesday 2nd July 2019, 10:33

Lotto ticket holders across the country are preparing themselves for what promises to be a captivating edition of the game. With a plethora of Lotto Raffle prizes on offer and a colossal jackpot up for grabs, could this be one of the most eagerly-anticipated draws in the lottery’s history?

Why is This Saturday’s Lotto Draw So Big?

With Christmas now just days away, National Lottery officials have really pushed the boat out to ensure that Lotto fans are treated to an amazing draw ahead of the 25th of December. Players taking part in Saturday’s Lotto draw will, as always, receive entry into the free-to-play Lotto Millionaire Raffle, a supplementary game that takes place following the conclusion of every Lotto draw; however, the upcoming draw will feature a special twist.

As part of what promises to be a festive feast of lottery draws over the coming days, the Lotto Millionaire Raffle is set to lavish one player with a prize of £1 million, before drawing 200 prizes of £20,000 in addition to the 20 that are given away in each regular draw. This means that there will be plenty more chances to win big with Lotto this weekend.

The draw will see 221 alphanumeric codes randomly selected. In order to win, players must match one of the winning codes exactly and there are no prizes for a partial match. A full set of winning codes will be available to view on the Lotto Results page following the draw.

And the Lotto Jackpot?

In addition to the extra special Lotto Millionaire Raffle draw, players will also have the opportunity to win a Lotto jackpot of £21.7 million. Simply match all six numbers in this Saturday’s draw and you could be celebrating a Christmas like no other.

Having rolled over for a total of nine draws, this is now the largest top prize the game has offered in over three months, following a reward of £24.9 million that was won in the draw on Wednesday 18th October.

Of course, Lotto fans have grown accustomed to hefty jackpots in 2017 with 11 top prizes exceeding the £10 million mark, three of which even managed to break through the £20 million barrier. Despite its gigantic size, this latest jackpot still has some way to go to topple the biggest prize of the year, a £25.5 million rolldown prize which was shared between two ticket holders in the Match 5 + Bonus tier in a must-be-won draw in May.

What Are You Waiting For?

If you fancy adding your name to the growing list of 2017 winners, why not pick up a ticket ahead of Saturday’s Lotto draw. You can play online or through any authorised retailer. The very best of luck!
