£3 Million Lotto Jackpot is Finally Claimed

Sometimes when players win a Lotto prize for some reason or another they fail to come forward and claim their prize. The prize then makes it onto the unclaimed prizes list and will expire after 180 days if the player doesn’t come forward before then, however the list this week just got smaller. This is because there was a £3 million Lotto jackpot on the list that has now been finally claimed by the winning ticket holder.
The Lotto jackpot which was worth £3,094,304 was won over two months ago on the 9th February when the winner matched the six numbers drawn in the Lotto results, draw no 1788, which were 8, 10, 27, 34, 40, 41 and the Bonus Ball was 48. In this draw the jackpot was worth £6.1 million but as there were two tickets that matched all six of the numbers drawn they split the jackpot evenly.
Although one of the winning tickets claimed their share of the jackpot immediately the other, who is believed to be from the Sevenoaks area, didn’t come forward straight away. This meant that this impressive jackpot then made it into the unclaimed prizes list and looked like it was heading to expire before it was finally claimed this week.
Whether this jackpot winner simply didn’t check their tickets properly or in fact lost it then found it again remains to be seen, but if they hadn’t of ever claimed this £3 million Lotto top prize, they could have been millionaires and not even have known about it.
