£209 Million EuroMillions Jackpot Won But UK Misses Out
Last Updated: Monday 31st March 2025, 09:40
The chance to become the UK’s biggest-ever National Lottery winner came and went on Friday night, as the record EuroMillions jackpot went to Austria.
Three weeks on from a £109 million Superdraw, the jackpot had climbed to £209 million for the draw on Friday 28th March. That made it the largest prize in the history of the game, and excitement was so great across Europe that the amount of tickets sold was far greater than expected.
Friday’s winning numbers were 10, 21, 30, 42 and 45, with Lucky Stars 1 and 9. A lengthy delay ensued as the results were processed, before it was announced that the jackpot had been won in Austria.
While the UK missed out on setting another record, there were still more than 1.4 million prizes paid out across the other 12 prize categories. Three UK ticket holders picked up £246,037 each after matching all five main numbers and one Lucky Star.
As always, the Millionaire Maker saw one player land £1 million - this time the winning code was HLHV 99083. Find out more draw information for 28th March.
Biggest UK Wins
It has now been almost three years since a new record was set for the biggest UK win. Back in July 2022, an anonymous player scooped £195 million - they came forward within a few days to claim their money and no more details were ever disclosed about whether it was an individual or a syndicate, or even where the ticket was sold.
Just a couple of months before that big win, Joe and Jess Thwaite from Gloucester had pocketed £184 million. They decided to go public because they did not want to ‘burden’ others with having to keep their secret.
It looked like a new high mark might be reached in November 2024, but someone matched all the numbers just before it entered the record books - they landed £177 million to become the UK’s third-biggest winner.
For now, the jackpot will start again at £14 million on Tuesday night. It could quickly rise back into nine figures, or perhaps there will be a run of regular wins. Choose your numbers online or grab a ticket from an authorised retailer.
