Health Lottery Prize Breakdown

The prize structure of the Health Lottery is set out with fixed awards for each category in The Big Win game. The only exception is the jackpot, which is split between winners. The top prize is worth £25,000 and to win it you need to match all five main numbers. The jackpot does not roll over if there are no winners.

You can also win prizes for matching as few as two main numbers, or even one main number plus the Bonus Ball. The Bonus Ball is the sixth number in each draw and is selected from the 45 balls remaining after the first five have been drawn. It exists to create extra prize tiers; for example, if you match three numbers, you win £80 more if you also match the Bonus Ball.

The table below shows how many numbers you need to match to win each Health Lottery prize, plus the odds of winning each one.

Free Prize Draw

Free prize draws are held every Wednesday and Saturday. Your Health Lottery Big Win numbers are automatically entered into this extra draw if you have bought a ticket for the main game on the same night. Another draw takes place, in which five numbers from 1 to 50 are picked. If you match all the numbers, you win £100,000 if it’s a Wednesday or £475,000 in a Saturday Megadraw. The prize is shared if there are multiple winners. There are no prizes for matching fewer numbers in the free prize draw - it is all or nothing. The prize does not roll over if there are no winners.

Prize Capping

Health Lottery prizes can be lower than advertised when prize capping comes into effect. The prize fund is limited to a maximum £1 million for each draw, so if the total amount that is due to be paid out exceeds this cap, the Health Lottery has the right to reduce prizes in all categories.
