This Friday’s EuroMillions Superdraw Offers Nine-Figure Jackpot

With the first EuroMillions Superdraw of the year edging ever closer, the guaranteed nine-figure jackpot worth a colossal €130 million (£110 million) has lottery lovers across all nine participating countries dreaming they’ll wake up a multi-millionaire. Here’s a reminder of what Superdraw ticket holders can look forward to for the upcoming draw on Friday 20th April.
Superdraws
There’s no denying that Superdraws are the biggest highlights of the EuroMillions calendar. Although they are played in the same way as normal EuroMillions draws, the prizes differ greatly, with a guaranteed nine-figure jackpot ramping up the excitement amongst players in the UK, Belgium, France and beyond.
This is the first ever Superdraw to take place in the month of April, and the size of the jackpot really creates a buzz amongst players, all visualising they’ll have a windfall at their disposal big enough to purchase state-of-the-art yachts, top-of-the-range vehicles and vast mansions set on acres of private land.
Previous Winners
There have been 19 previous Superdraws, with the first one taking place on Friday 8th February 2007. An anonymous ticket holder from Belgium scooped a €77.6 million (£66.98 million) jackpot that night, after matching 14, 16, 30, 36, 46 and two Lucky Stars 2 and 8. Seven of the 19 jackpots have been won on the night, for a combined total of €609,511,712 (£526,110,000), with the other 12 draws rolling over at least once.
The most recent Superdraw was held on Friday 15th September 2017, offering a gargantuan jackpot of €132.7 million (£114.5 million). The jackpot wasn’t won on the night, but rolled over six times to reach its €190 million (£170.8 million) jackpot cap, before it was finally won 21 days later on Friday 6th October by a Las Palmas ticket holder. The Spaniard bought their ticket in Gran Canaria’s El Mirador Shopping Centre, instantly becoming the joint-biggest ever winner in the game’s history.
The EuroMillions Booster Fund is used to increase the size of the jackpot for a Superdraw, receiving 4.8% of the common prize fund for every normal draw.
Could You Win?
On Friday, UK ticket holders could follow in the footsteps of Angela and Dave Dawes, who won €117 million (£101 million) in a Superdraw in October 2011, or London-based Neil Trotter, recipient of a Superdraw jackpot worth €129 million (£107 million) in March 2014. While it’s impossible to correctly predict how the draw will unfold, the possibilities will be endless for the winner - or winners - of the mammoth €130 million jackpot.
