Set For Life Super Chance Draws
Set For Life Super Chance draws are very special events in which it is possible to win the top prize of £10k a month for 30 years without even matching all the numbers. These draws are not held regularly; when they do take place the exact date is announced by the National Lottery several weeks in advance.

How do Super Chance Draws Work?
Super Chance draws are like regular Set For Life draws in almost every way. The big difference is that you can win the top prize by matching just five numbers without the Life Ball; in standard draws you also need to match the Life Ball to win the top prize. If you do happen to match five numbers plus the Life Ball in a Super Chance draw you still win £10,000 a month for 30 years.
This change means that the usual Match 5 prize of £10,000 a month for a year is replaced and your odds of winning the top prize are vastly improved. In standard draws the odds of winning £10,000 a month for 30 years are around 1 in 15 million but in Super Chance draws the odds are just 1 in 1.5 million, making it ten times more likely that you will win.
What's more, if there's no top prize winner in a Super Chance draw, another one will take place, and so on until at least one player wins £10,000 a month for 30 years. There are no changes to the prizes in the other tiers in Super Chance draws.
Tier | Prize Amount | Odds of Winning |

Match 4 + Life Ball | £250 | 1 in 73,045 |

Match 3 + Life Ball | £30 | 1 in 1,782 |
Match 3 | £20 | 1 in 198 |
Match 2 + Life Ball | £10 | 1 in 134 |
Match 2 | £5 | 1 in 15 |
Overall odds of winning £10,000 a month for 30 years: 1 in 1,533,939 | Overall odds of winning a prize: 1 in 12.4 |
You don't need to do anything different to enter a Super Chance draw. Just purchase your entry for the date on which the special draw is taking place. You still pick five numbers from 1 to 47 and one Life Ball from 1 to 10, and entry still costs £1.50 per line.
Super Chance Prize Capping
Super Chance draws are subject to prize capping, just like the prizes in regular Set For Life draws. However, where the top prize fund in a normal draw is capped at £16 million, it's capped at £18 million for a Super Chance draw.
In real terms this allows there to be five prize winners in total in the Match 5 and Match 5+1 prize categories without the need for a reduction in the amounts paid to each winner. Each top prize is equal to a total payout of £3.6 million and multiplied by five winners that is £18 million exactly.
If there happens to be a particularly lucky draw and there are six or more winners of the 30-year annuity prize, the capped amount of £18 million would be divided equally between them. Each winner would then be given the option of receiving the money as a lump sum or as an annuity. In the latter case the monthly payments would be less than £10,000 but they would still be paid for a period of 30 years.
