Win £15 Million This Easter with Lotto Must Be Won Draw

Last Updated: Wednesday 16th April 2025, 12:49

Prepare yourself for a special Lotto draw that is taking place this Easter Saturday. It’s a Must Be Won draw meaning that the £15 million jackpot is guaranteed to be picked up, either by a single player or split between many.

Why Must it be Won?

These ‘Must Be Won’ draws are specially put on by Lotto to ensure the jackpot is paid out  (even if no one matches all the numbers) but why do they happen?

They usually take place when the Lotto jackpot has rolled over five times in a row. It was introduced so the top prize would be won more regularly. However, they are also put on to mark special occasions, like Easter, so Lotto players can enjoy the holiday in style!

The way it works is pretty simple. The current jackpot of £5.2 million will be instantly raised to £15 million for Saturday's draw. The extra money comes from the Lotto Reserve Fund, a percentage of the prize pot collected in every draw.

If somebody matches all six main numbers then they’ll be walking away with the whole lot! If this isn’t the case, then the prize will ‘rolldown’ amongst all the winners in the lower prize tiers - so everyone gets a piece of the pie! Winners of the next prize tier get 3% of the total jackpot fund, and you’ll split 85% of the jackpot if you match three numbers.

Even players who match only two numbers would get a guaranteed cash prize instead of a Lucky Dip, so it’s definitely an exciting draw to get involved in.

A Holiday Treat

‘Must Be Won’ draws are known for marking special occasions. It makes holidays that much more exciting as Lotto gives players the chance to achieve their dreams. On this occasion, it’s Easter, and there have been other recent examples of holidays being celebrated with these special draws.

Last Christmas a ‘Must Be Won’ draw took place, making two UK players millionaires overnight as they split a boosted second-tier prize!

Lotto jackpots are won pretty frequently and there have been many successful winners stories we can celebrate. The biggest win came before the jackpot cap in 2016 where a couple from the Scottish Borders, David and Carol Martin, won £66 million.

Since the introduction of the jackpot cap and ‘Must Be Won’ draws, more players have been able to win bigger prizes and the jackpot has been given out far more times.

With these increased chances to win big money, many players are looking forward to this special Easter Lotto draw, which you can also enter by purchasing tickets online.
