Voting is now open for the semi-finals of the National Lottery awards where many projects from around the UK are competing to receive National Lottery grants from the good causes fund. The National Lottery Awards are a way you can make a difference to the way that money for good causes is spent in the UK. They’re an annual search to find the UK’s favourite lottery-funded projects for donations from the National Lottery fund.
Each week in the UK, lottery players raise £25 million for good causes through the sale of lottery tickets and through the addition of unclaimed lottery prizes. The National Lottery awards are a great way to highlight that funding, how it is spent and how it has changed, and is changing into the future, the UK for the better.
The awards give National Lottery players a chance to say how money for good causes is spent in the UK and right now, voting in the semi-finals of the National Lottery awards has just voted.
Head to lottery good causes to vote for your favourite lottery projects around the UK. Each category has ten projects and voting continues until midday on 18th June 2010.
As voting ends, the three projects in each category with the most votes will progress to the National Lottery awards final round of public voting, this will run from 26th July to 13th August.
Once all the voting is complete, the final causes will be heading to National Lottery HQ in London to take part in the live lottery show and possibly win the big grant for good causes given away in the National Lottery awards.
