Guinevere was the lottery machine chosen for the draw, a popular choice in the last few weeks, set of balls number 5 was also used, last seen out on April 6th. This combination proved lucky for one player, who scooped the entire £7.1 million jackpot.
In all, just over £13 million was paid out in prize money from lucky lottery tickets, with a little over half making up the jackpot. Another twelve lottery players will be celebrating today after matching five and the bonus, and each of those players will be collecting a cheque for £72,177. The rest of the prize money was broken up into the lower tier prizes, with thousands of winners picking up a consolation prize in the rollover draw.
Next up for UK lottery players is tomorrow’s Euromillions draw, and as last week’s double rollover was won by a lottery player from Spain, this week the draw will be worth an estimated £13 million. The next UK Lotto draw will be held on Saturday evening and the estimated jackpot for that draw is £4.5 million.
