Quantum of Solace, which is the 22nd James Bond movie from EON Productions, is out in the UK on 31 October, 2008 and follows on from the Casino Royale storyline. With Daniel Craig starring as 007 for the second time, industry pundits are predicting that the film will be a box office smash, and the new lottery scratchcard is likely to be just as popular.
The Quantum of Solace scratchcard game costs £2 and offers five top prizes of £70,007 as well as many smaller prizes. There are twelve different card designs to choose from, and our guess is that many players will try them all.
The television advertisement promoting the new game shows a jogger leaving behind the humdrum environment of the gym to race, James Bond style, across the rooftops of Siena, before eventually crashing through the roof of a top restaurant and finding his way to a Vodka Martini. In-store promotional materials will also be appearing across the nation to bring the Quantum of Solace scratchcard to our attention.
“The response we see from players to film-themed scratchcards is always fantastic,” said Richard Bateson, who is Camelot’s Controller of Game Development & scratchcards. “We expect the new Quantum of Solace game to follow in the footsteps of previous best-selling entertainment-themed games – such as the recent Indiana Jones scratchcard – and fly out of retailers’ doors quicker than Bond’s Aston Martin. It’s great fun – and fans of the franchise will absolutely love the 12 different designs of card available.
“The TV advertising campaign, together with our supporting in-store Point of Sale material, will allow us to gain maximum exposure for the game and to capitalise on the excitement surrounding the new film. With five top prizes of £70,007 to be won on the new scratchcard, we’re confident that players will feel excited at the possibility of winning and perhaps sampling a little bit of the glamorous James Bond lifestyle for themselves.”
