Precise jackpots for UK Lotto
Last Updated: Sunday 17th July 2011, 19:15
Last night’s Lotto winner collects £2.4 million, exactly, which can only mean that the National Lottery have started rounding lottery jackpots either up or down. It seems too much of a coincidence that both Wednesday’s and Saturday’s Lotto jackpot would be exactly on estimate, right down to the last penny, so this really is the only possible explanation.
We’re not sure why the Lotto would start to round jackpots, it’s possible that they are compensating for low lottery jackpots due to the Tuesday Euromillions draw. Whatever the reason it looks like lottery winners will no longer be left with small change in their pockets, as lottery jackpots get very precise.
Next up is Friday’s Euromillions Lottery rollover, worth an estimated £24 million, after that will be the Saturday Lotto, which may just be worth exactly £4.4 million. At the time of writing this article, the National Lottery website was offline for maintenance, but hopefully it will be up and running again soon so that players can buy their lottery tickets for the weekend.
