National Lottery To Hold Two Special Festive Draws

Whether you’re a fan of Lotto or EuroMillions, you can look forward to a special draw during the festive period. A Lotto Must Be Won draw will take place on Christmas Day, followed by a ‘10 Millionaires’ event in EuroMillions on New Year’s Eve.
Lotto Must Be Won
In keeping with the tradition of the last few years, the Lotto jackpot will be boosted to £15 million for the draw on Saturday 25th December. What’s more, the top prize is guaranteed to be paid out even if nobody matches all the main numbers.
If nobody wins the full £15 million for themselves, the entire jackpot will roll down. This gives you a chance to scoop a far larger prize than usual without having to match more numbers.
Take a look at the page on Lotto Must Be Won Draws to find out how the jackpot is divided between the other prize categories if there is a rolldown.
EuroMillions Event
Less than a week after the big Lotto draw, 10 EuroMillions players are guaranteed to win £1 million each on Friday 31st December.
The prizes will come in the Millionaire Maker, which usually has one winner in every draw. On New Year’s Eve, however, 10 winning codes will be selected. Match one of the winning codes and your bank balance will be boosted by a seven-figure cash injection.
The odds of winning a Millionaire Maker prize depend on how many tickets are sold, but you have a far better chance of banking £1 million with multiple awards on offer.
Bumper Sales
Announcing the two special draws, Camelot’s retail director Jenny Blogg predicted a wonderful Christmas for both players and National Lottery retailers.
Blogg said: “With two fantastic special event draws lined up and a host of other festive activity in retail, we’re expecting National Lottery retailers to be able to enjoy a bumper sales period this Christmas.
“As always, there’s a few things that retailers can do to help maximise the sales opportunities around this time of year, including making sure all POS is sited, suggesting a Scratchcard game to customers which they can gift to friends or family, and reminding customers to buy a ticket at the till. All this will go towards helping National Lottery players continue raising over £30 million every week for Good Causes.”
