National Lottery Christmas 2011
Last Updated: Tuesday 21st February 2012, 12:52
As you will know Christmas Day happens on a Sunday this year, so regarding dates and times there will be no interruption to the main lottery games. The EuroMillions draws will take place exactly the same in the build-up to Christmas with them both happening on Tuesday and Friday. However, make a note of the Friday draw (23rd December) as this is when the EuroMillions Millionaires Month will come to end. If you aren’t aware already the Millionaire Raffle, which is an additional game to the EuroMillions in the U.K is making 50 players millionaires by Christmas, and on Friday there will be 25 £1 million prizes up for grabs.
The UK Lotto and Thunderball draws will both take place on Christmas Eve, however as they are both broadcasted on BBC 1 they won’t actually be shown until 11.15pm due to the festive programming. This is fine for those of you who will still be awake then, however if not then it might the case that you wake up on Christmas Day morning to find out you have become a top prize winner.
In addition to that that is it worth a note that although the draws will remain the same offline ticket purchases may slightly differ. On the 24th December some retailers might close before the lottery ticket sales deadline and also, if you check your tickets the following day in one of the many retailers then they will be closed on Christmas Day. The way to avoid this is either by buying your tickers earlier, or purchasing them online. Also, if you want to see if you have won a prize then you can use our handy lottery results checker or if you are on the move you can download our free National Lottery iPhone app.
Merry Christmas and good luck!
