Jarrow couple Micheal and Norma Eggleston have been toasting the 15th anniversary of the UK lotto alongside other millionaires at the Gateshead event. The couple are both 63 and they scooped £2.7 million on the Lotto in March 2007.
There were many winners at the event as a massive 323 jackpots have been won in the North East region, of those 123 winners were instant millionaires. Since the launch of the UK Lotto in 1994 a massive £596,474,234 has been paid out in winning lottery tickets in the region.
The parties are being held up and down the UK to bring UK lotto winners together to celebrate the good fortune brought to them by the National Lottery, Mrs Eggleston had a lovely time at the Gateshead event and met up with past millionaires that she had met before as well as meeting a few new ones.
Having family in Holland, the Eggleston’s lottery win really meant the world to them and their lives as the main benefit of the £2 million win has means that they can spend more time in Holland visiting their far away family.
