Man Jailed for Lottery Con

Drew, from Nottingham ran the work lottery syndicate while he was employed by John Wiley and Sons in Bognor, a trusted member of the team he collected winnings when the syndicate had won. Although we don’t know how much money was involved it was an awful thing to do and the false claim that he was robbed led to eight innocent people being arrested and held in custody.
However the police soon saw through his plan and he was arrested himself, now he’s been sentenced to eight months in prison for perverting the course of justice and theft at Chichester Crown Court in a move that the police hope will act as a deterrent to anyone considering reporting false crimes in order to hide their own criminal activity.
It’s not known how much cash was actually involved in the con or whether the lottery syndicate is still buying lottery tickets. If they are, let’s hope they have a syndicate head they can trust this time as this crime by their colleague must have surely come as quite a shock to the lottery syndicate.
