Lotto Winner Leaves it Late to Claim £4.6 Million Jackpot

A Lotto player from the Borough of Barking and Dagenham has made full use of the 180-day deadline for claiming prizes after coming forward to collect £4.6 million just before their ticket expired. There had been fears that the jackpot from the Lotto draw on Saturday 12th September would go unclaimed, but the ticket was finally cashed in this week with just three days to go.
A National Lottery spokesman said: “We're delighted that the winner of this amazing prize has now come forward and we hope that they will enjoy their win. It would have been awful if the ticket holder had missed out on this substantial and life-changing amount of money.”
Every Lotto ticket in the UK remains valid for 180 days from the date of the draw, but after that time any unclaimed prizes are donated to the Good Causes Fund.
