Lotto Jackpot Stops Rolling

Last Updated: Saturday 22nd October 2011, 20:58

The Lotto jackpot stopped rolling last night (Wednesday 31 August) after two tickets matched all six main numbers, which were 05, 26, 43, 46, 47 and 49. The Bonus Ball was 28. The jackpot had a final value of £7.42 million, beating the official estimated value of £6.6 million by over £800,000, so the two winning tickets won £3,713,908 each. Now that the jackpot has been won, the Lotto jackpot for the next game this Saturday 3 September will be worth around £4.1 million, but before we get to that we have a £100 million EuroMillions jackpot to play for on Friday 2 September!

Over 282,000 prizes were won in the Lotto game on Wednesday, and 200 of those winning tickets (not including the jackpot winners) picked up a prize of four-figures or higher. 197 tickets matched five main numbers to win £2,817 each and another 3 tickets matched five main numbers as well as the Bonus Ball to win £296,053 each.

Whilst it was good to see the Lotto rollover jackpot pay out last night, it would be even more exciting to see the EuroMillions jackpot do the same this Friday. We have already said that the midweek Lotto jackpot beat its estimated value so we are now wondering if the EuroMillions jackpot might do the same.

Even if the EuroMillions jackpot this Friday was to weigh in at exactly £100 million and not a penny more, nobody would complain one bit. When you win that kind of money you probably don’t care about the odd million or two – in fact the eventual winner might decide to splurge something like that in the first few weeks alone! And why shouldn’t they? £100 million invested in any financial vehicle paying 5% interest would generate an annual income of £5 million, which would enable you to live a life of luxury without even touching the jackpot itself!

As always, you have to be in it to win it, so if you haven’t already bought your lottery tickets for the big £100 million EuroMillions game on Friday, you should probably think about doing so now. Then, when you have bought your tickets, you can start dreaming about how you might spend some of that cash if you are lucky enough to become the next big EuroMillionaire!
