Lottery funds for good causes is a big reason the lottery is so appealing and now it has been announced that there will be lotto cash for dementia sufferers and young people leaving care in the form of a £50 million grant from the Big Lottery Fund.
The grant, in the form of £50 million in lottery funding is to help the 70,000 Scots every year who suffer from dementia, making it a national priority. The announcement was made my Alex Salmond from the Big Lottery Fund earlier this week and is a great boost for dementia care and mental health services.
The project is part of a larger aim to use the money from lotto ticket sales to improve Scottish communities by targeting those most in need.
This of course is just one of the many ways that money for good causes, by the sale of National Lottery tickets is helping communities around the UK, and it’s not just through grants for medical services. The National Lottery good causes fund is also responsible for much aid around the UK including social, medical and charitable donations.
That’s as good a reason as any to buy lotto tickets, as if the chance to become an instant millionaire isn’t reason enough. However when you consider the many millions of pounds given to good causes since the launch of the UK Lotto back in 1994 it’s as good a reason as any to keep buying those lottery tickets.
The next UK Lotto draw will be held on Wednesday evening and the estimated jackpot is £2.5 million. Good luck!
