It’s not actually the note, just the pattern and for that the Lottery winner had to receive express permission from the Royal Mint.
Hannah Cooper won £2.5 million on the UK Lotto after hitting the jackpot last year. A Fashion student, she was keen to keep up her studies but after the win came up with the idea of printing £20 notes onto silver silk to make the dress.
After asking the Bank of England for permission, Miss Cooper completed the dress and after counting how much money was on the silk found it to come to over £1 million making this her first multi-million creation.
A dress made entirely of lottery tickets might have been more appropriate and with the number chosen by this lucky lottery winner it would have been sure to be a big seller.
Hannah is studying fashion at the University of Wales in Newport and was inspired to make her million pound creation after family and friends kept asking her about her lucky lottery win so she thought it would be fun to make the dress.
The dress was modelled by the current Miss Cardiff and it’s hoped that it will be put on permanent display somewhere. It’s nice to hear of one young lottery winner who has managed to keep herself very grounded and long may it continue.
