Lottery used as election tool

The Conservative government have promised to reform the UK Lotto if they get into power in the next general election proving nothing is above being used as an election tool. Jeremy Hunt, the Conservative party spokesmen on culture laid out plans this week to reform the UK Lotto on a visit to Edinburgh.
He claims that the reform of the way the UK Lotto and good causes is run could mean an extra £19 million a year to Scotland. Jeremy Hunt is the Tory minister for culture media and sport says that extra lottery money to Scotland could have a huge impact on things like grassroots sport for the country.
At the moment Labour are using lottery funds for good causes for wider priorities like Health and Education but the Tory government say they want to change this outlook and see lottery cash channeled into sport, arts, heritage and charities changing the whole outlook of the lottery with a new government.
Mr Hunt claimed, during his visit to Edinburgh that by returning the lottery to these values and cutting administration costs further would mean that as much as £19 million extra every year could be directed at Scotland and have a different effect to the one it has now throughout the UK.
Of course election promises are just that and until after the next general election we cannot hope to know what promises will be kept and forgotten but of course as we hear more news we will report it here and if there are any changes to the way the UK Lotto is run, you will be the first to hear about it.
