Stan and Pat Cable won £3.9 million on the UK Lotto draw just over a year ago, having lived in their council house in Suffolk for twenty-seven years they were keen to stay. Despite now having enough money to by the house ten times over they decided that they are happy in their £65 a week council house and want to remain there.
As long term secure tenants they are entitled to remain in the home they have lived in for many years despite now being multi millionaires after their UK Lotto win. However after the story appeared in many UK newspapers readers have been writing in saying they should give up the house to someone more needy on the housing list. Understandably Mr and Mrs Cable want to stay in their home but now feel harassed.
Many of us say that money wouldn’t change us if our lottery tickets came up but for the Cables this couldn’t be more true. Now however only time will tell if this harassment continues and the Cables are forced to move.
