Brits might have been disappointed to see the EuroMillions jackpot being won by a player overseas, but they did very well with the consolation prizes that were also up for grabs. One UK ticket was among six that won a second tier prize worth £179,315 each, and three of seven tickets that won £51,232 each at the third tier had also been bought by players in the UK. In total, British entries won more than £3 million in prize money, and the Millionaire Raffle number LBJ742888 awarded another £1 million to the player who had the matching ticket.
The Lotto results on Saturday 29 March were 08, 14, 16, 21, 47 and 49, with the number 29 appearing as the Bonus Ball. The jackpot came in at slightly more than the official estimate, with a final value of £4,637,560, and two tickets matched all six main numbers to share that sum equally. Another nine tickets matched five of the main numbers plus the Bonus Ball to win £41,129 each, and 253 tickets won £1,242 each by matching five main numbers only. Over 289,000 prizes were won in total in the main Lotto game, and the Lotto Raffle game gave another 50 winners a prize of £20,000 each.
The Health Lottery game has been running a Hot Ticket promotion in recent weeks and that promotion ended on Saturday night, with ten tickets winning a cash prize of £2,000, £5,000 or £10,000 each. In the main game, one ticket matched all five main numbers (09, 20, 33, 35 and 42) to win the biggest possible prize of £100,000, and over 63,000 consolation prizes were landed, many of them with the help of the Bonus Ball number 12.
All of that gave lottery fans an exciting end to the first quarter of 2014, and it will now be interesting to see players fare in the second quarter. The EuroMillions game this Tuesday 1 April provides the first opportunity to win big, so visit the Lottery Tickets page if you would like to get involved in that and good luck with your numbers!
